When you first open Nimbi, you'll set up a child profile: name, age, and favorite interests. Once that's done, you'll land on the Home screen where you can pick a story length, choose a mood, and tap Generate Story. Your first story will be ready in a few seconds.

Yes! You can add multiple child profiles from the Profiles section (bookmark icon on the Home screen). Each child has their own interests and story history, so bedtime stays personal for everyone.

No. Nimbi works without any account or login. Everything is saved locally on your device. We believe bedtime shouldn't require signing up for anything.

Nimbi is best suited for children aged 2 to 10. Stories automatically adjust in vocabulary, length, and complexity based on your child's age. Toddler stories are shorter and simpler; stories for older children may have richer language and more developed plots.

Each story is created by an AI model at the moment you tap Generate. It uses the details from your child's profile: their interests, age, and mood, to craft a unique story. No two stories are the same. An internet connection is required for generation, which typically takes 5 to 15 seconds.

Yes. Nimbi's story generation is specifically constrained to produce calm, age-appropriate content. Stories never include violence, scary elements, or overstimulating plots. The AI is instructed to end every story peacefully, helping children wind down, not stay awake.

Each story weaves in a gentle learning value, such as kindness, courage, or curiosity, naturally into the narrative. It's never preachy or lesson-like; it's just part of the story world. The value label appears as a small pill above the story title.

Yes. Tap the heart icon while reading to save a story to your Favorites. Saved stories are available offline and remain on your device until you delete them.

Stories can be generated in English, Spanish, French, Italian, German, and Portuguese. The app interface is available in English and Spanish. Both settings are independent, so you can use the app in one language while generating stories in another.

Go to the Settings screen (gear icon on the Home screen) and select your preferred language under App Language. The change takes effect immediately.

On the Home screen, use the language toggle to choose which language your next story will be generated in. This only affects the story content, not the app interface.

All your data: child profiles, saved stories, and settings, is stored locally on your device. Nothing is uploaded to our servers. The only data that leaves your device is the story generation request, which includes your child's age, interests, and mood. This is sent to our AI provider to generate the story and is not retained.

Nimbi collects minimal, anonymized analytics to understand how the app is used. This data is never tied to identifiable information. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

Since all data is stored on your device, you can delete it at any time by removing the app. All profiles, saved stories, and preferences will be permanently deleted. We do not hold a copy.

Story generation requires an active internet connection and typically takes 5 to 15 seconds. If it's taking longer, check your connection. If the issue persists, close and reopen the app and try again.

You can read saved (favorited) stories offline anytime. Generating new stories requires an internet connection since the AI runs in the cloud.

Nimbi is currently available for iPhone and iPad running iOS 16 or later. We're working on an Android version, stay tuned.
